A Message from the Executive Team

We want to start by being honest with you, we don’t have the answers. Like you, we’ve spent a week now watching the veil being lifted on the appalling violence and systemic oppression faced by black people in America. The senseless killing of George Floyd was just the latest heartbreaking example of a legacy of violence and injustice that plagues the history of the U.S., but which is also an inescapable reality for people of color globally.

Our message to you is that Corsearch condemns the event which started the current protests, every part of the violence which has followed, but especially the institutionalized inequalities that allow racism to persist. It is an issue that erodes law-abiding societies and has no place in the modern world.

Many of us are fortunate that we never have to endure the acts of physical or mental violence that follow from discrimination. However, that does not mean we can turn a blind eye to it where it exists for our family, friends, and colleagues. Their communities bear witness to such events time and time again, and they are hurting and angry. In this case, to be silent is to be complicit, and so we stand with you and support peaceful protest and the demand for change.

Corsearch has a diverse and globally-dispersed team who celebrate Togetherness as one of our core Values. We take this Value extremely seriously in our own people and in our clients, and we’ve worked hard to build a culture of tolerance and equality. This starts with acknowledging this societal problem by speaking out and by standing by a rule of law that says everyone must be treated equally. This is how we live our Values.

And, while we may not know how to make the whole world better, we do know that change begins within and that we hope to be the change we want to see in the world. Equal opportunities and equal support for all remain our guiding principles. We will proactively look at our partners and clients and be willing to respectfully walk away from any that do not share this commitment. We will also consider how our future relationships are fair and equitable, always evaluating which organizations we partner with and support.

Most important right now though is the message to everyone, but particularly, our black colleagues in the U.S., that we’re open to listening to how you feel, whether that’s about the general situation or how Corsearch can be better. Equally, if you don’t want to talk, please know that our doors are open. We’re all human and we’re all imperfect, but we’re trying to improve and that starts with dialogue.
